Partners

emsEvangelical Missiological Society (EMS) is a valued partner with Missio Nexus in the annual North American Mission Leaders Conference, bringing scholarly research and biblical reflection to critical issues of the day. Each year the North American Mission Leaders Conference includes an extensive track of workshops developed in partnership with EMS.

Our history of collaboration with EMS goes back to 1968, when the parent organizations of Missio Nexus, IFMA and EFMA, held a joint meeting in Winona Lake, Indiana, where the Association of Evangelical Professors of Missions (AEPM) was formed. In the fall of 1990 AEPM expanded its focus to include a growing number of mission scholars whose ministry took place outside the classroom and became EMS.

To learn more about EMS, get information about their regional workshops or become a member we encourage you to visit their web site.

AESTM
Alliance for Excellence in Short-Term Mission (AESTM) is a new partner with Missio Nexus and EMS in cosponsoring the Mission Leaders Conference.  AESTM is the non-profit umbrella for three national entities committed to educating and equipping churches, organizations and missions in order to strengthen the short-term missions movement.

With an estimated 40,000 sending entities (including 35,000 churches) sending as many as two million short-termers each year from North America, the AESTM partners organize conferences such as the Fellowship of Short-Term Missions Leaders and the National Short-Term Mission Conference.  In the early 2000’s, leaders from this collective established the US Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Missions, a member based organization with measures and accountabilities for mission sending entities desiring excellence in seven key areas.

AESTM and its affiliates are deeply committed to the Great Commission and to churches and Gospel outreach worldwide, believing that effective partnerships with goers, senders and receivers fuel spirit-led movements to further God’s Kingdom Agenda here on earth.
