C-Suite Webinars

C-Suite Webinars are online gatherings for up to 30 live participants from our Premium Access constituency. Featuring 30 minutes of input “curated” specifically for senior executives, these webinars are followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.

Mission leadership presents a unique set of challenges for church and mission executives, which is one of the reasons we place such a high value on shared learning. All of us—collectively—are smarter than any of us—individually.

This year’s C-Suite webinar offering pools the collective “wisdom of the leadership crowd” to help you lead more effectively in four practical arenas: running a meeting, evaluating talent, maintaining margin and “sharpening the saw” of personal development.

We’ve invited high-capacity executives from ministry, mission and business contexts to share their best ideas, practices, resources and experiences in each of these four categories. Steve Moore, president of Missio Nexus, will be collating the input and presenting the findings in four separate webinars that include about 30 minutes of content followed by up to 30 minutes of questions and answers.

If you would like to be part our crowd-sourced content team send your best ideas on any of these four topics to info@MissioNexus.org with the subject line, 2013 C-Suite Webinars.

How the Most Effective Leaders Run a Meeting

April 9, 2013
Research by the London School of Economics in partnership with Harvard Business School says if you answer the question, “Where’s the boss?” by saying “In a meeting,” you have a one-in-three chance of being correct. The content of meetings changes as you go up the leadership ladder but too often, so does the volume.

In this C-Suite webinar for our Premium Access members we’ll share the best ideas, practices and resources culled from our network about maximizing the value of every meeting.

How the Most Effective Leaders Evaluate Talent

June 4, 2013
Lou Holtz once said, “I noticed I was a much better football coach the years I had really good players.” A part of effective leadership is attracting and developing a high-capacity team. One of the most demotivating experiences for A-players is un-remediated C-players. To sustain a healthy and productive organizational culture leaders have to recruit and develop the people around them.

In this C-Suite webinar for our Premium Access members we’ll share the best ideas, practices and resources culled from our network about selecting and developing a great team.

How the Most Effective Leaders Maintain Margin

August 27, 2013
Dallas Willard said, “God never gives anyone too much to do. We do that to ourselves or allow others to do it to us.” If you are an overworked church or mission executive it is not God’s fault, even if you are busy building the kingdom. The person at fault is probably the one looking at you in the mirror each morning. We all know leadership is a more like a marathon than a sprint. The challenge is finding the disciplines needed to manage a sustainable pace.

In this C-Suite webinar for our Premium Access members we’ll share the best ideas, practices and experiences culled from our network about maintaining margin over the long haul. (We hope you are not too busy to join us.)

How the Most Effective Leaders “Sharpen the Saw”

October 29, 2013
In his classic, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey popularized the biblical principle of “sharpening the saw” as a metaphor for personal development. (Ecclesiastes 10:10) There is a clear and direct correlation between the growth of a leader and the growth of an organization. It is not possible for an organization to experience significant and sustained growth if its highest level leaders are not growing. One of the best ways to ensure your organization goes to the “next level” is to go to the next level yourself, committing to become everything God intended.

In this C-Suite webinar for our Premium Access members we’ll share the best ideas, practices and experiences culled from our network about making time and cultivating the discipline required to sharpen the saw.
